Questions about whether Macronix flash device sector size and more generally SFDP (Serial Flash Discoverable Parameters) enabled devices provide a command to report the size of their respective sectors in bytes.  A Texas Instruments forum post goes into detail about flash use modes, but not the querying command:

This local wiki article holds a few notes and details about NOR flash memory manufacturers, plus some specific parts in the memory size range of 8Mbit to 128Mbit. Before getting into specific parts, a couple of articles by Avinash Aravindan on NAND and NOR based flash memory types:

Note: there are five or six articles by the author of the two above linked flash memory articles. These are really good articles in their overviews, comparison of NAND and NOR flash memory types, and technical detail.

Specific Memory Parts

^ Macronix

Macronix International manufactures some 8Mbit FLASH NOR memory devices:

Questions about whether Macronix flash device sector size and more generally SFDP (Serial Flash Discoverable Parameters) enabled devices provide a command to report the size of their respective sectors in bytes. A Texas Instruments forum post goes into detail about flash use modes, but not the querying command:

Macronix also provides an application note regarding Serial Flash Discoverable Parameters:

^ Microchip

Microchip memory devices:

    An excerpt:
      16Mb 2.7-3.6V SPI Serial Flash

      Status: In Production
      Features:

Serial Interface Architecture– SPI Compatible: Mode 0 and Mode 3
Up to 50 MHz Clock Frequency
Superior Reliability– Endurance: 100,000 Cycles (typical)– Greater than 100 years Data Retention
Low Power Consumption:– Active Read Current: 10 mA (typical)– Standby Current: 5 µA (typical)
Flexible Erase Capability– Uniform 4 KByte sectors– Uniform 32 KByte overlay blocks– Uniform 64 KByte overlay blocks
Fast Erase and Byte-Program:– Chip-Erase Time: 35 ms (typical)– Sector-/Block-Erase Time: 18 ms (typical)– Byte-Program Time: 7 µs (typical)

A part alternate to the MX...8035, two parts by Microchip. On Microchip's site there is mention that the SST26 prefixed part is recommended over the SST25, but did not see mention of end-of-life or other obsolescence at their site. Following are 16Mbit (2 Mbyte) and an 8Mbit (1 Mbyte) NOR flash memory:
