2019 Opencart 2.3.0.2 Amendments by ASI Team

Our two main improvement goals for Opencart in 2019 are to correct the "order can't be edited when last item purchased" issue, and to create an easy and well-documented way to allow end users to change the content of the top banner or top portion of Opencart's displayed pages. The first goal is critical to making the cart usable during sale and selling times. The second goal is important but less critical.

As a first step there are newer releases of Opencart and it is worth checking [https://github.com/opencart/opencart/releases the latest stable release] to see whether the "zero item" order editing problem is resolved there. To meet this goal more efficiently it will be helpful to draft a short SQL script which populates Opencart database tables with a few test items, so we may exercise the cart and submit orders of those test items, and see what happens when we order the last one . . .
